The first block, and how to be there.
Buying a meme coin on the first block means buying it a few hundred milliseconds after creation, at the lowest price on its curve. By hand it's impossible: you need a bot that spots the launch, decides, signs and sends before everyone else.

Why the price rises so fast
On the pump.fun curve, each buy raises the price of the next one. In the first blocks of a coin that draws a crowd, dozens of buyers come in at once: whoever lands on block +1 can pay much less than whoever lands on block +5. A Solana block lasts about 300 ms.
What wins the race
- Spot the launchThe bot has to get the information as early as possible, straight from the chain.
- Decide without waitingFilters (mcap, dev buy, words) run locally, with no outside call.
- Sign in a fraction of a millisecondOn Scope, 0.32 ms from spotted launch to signed transaction.
- Send through several routesRPC, Jito across several regions and network leaders, all at once.
- Pay the right tipWithin the same block, the highest bidder goes first. See tip and priority.
Getting out in time
Being first is useless if you stay too long. First-block buyers are often the first sellers too. The exits that work best at launch are simple: a quick take profit on part, a stop loss, and a sell after X blocks so you don't get stuck.
Doing it with Scope
- Create a « launches » groupIn the bot or the web app.
- Set your filtersMcap, dev buy, wanted and banned words.
- Pick amount and tipSmall amounts, tip matched to the competition.
- Set your exitsTake profits, stop loss, sell when the dev sells, sell after X blocks. Turn it on.
FAQ
Can I buy on the first block by hand?
No: by the time you see the coin and click, dozens of blocks have passed.
Is buying at launch profitable?
It depends on your filters and exits. Many coins collapse right after; the first block gives the best price, not a guaranteed gain.
Is block 0 possible?
The creation block itself is usually taken by the dev and their circle. In practice a sniper targets the very first blocks after it.
